The UBF Institute’s Continuing Education Spring 2025 semester concluded successfully, featuring four courses. These classes explored biblical, practical, and ministry-relevant themes. “Following the Christ who Suffered for Us,” instructed by Pastor Steve Stasinos, provided a systematic study of 1 Peter, emphasizing Christian identity and joyful suffering. The course consisted of ten sessions, on understanding identity through Jesus’ resurrection and living a humble life like Jesus our good shepherd. Meetings were held weekly on Thursday evenings. Participants were edified by engaging in prepared questions, Bible study, and sharing reflections.

The course, “Living by the Spirit, in Union with Christ” by Dr. Augustine Suh, explored the doctrine of the Holy Spirit and salvation. This course covered topics such as the identity and ministry of the Holy Spirit, exploring how to keep in step with the Spirit in our daily lives and ministries. The doctrine of salvation addressed various aspects of salvation, with a primary focus on union with Christ. The participants engaged with the topics through reading materials, six online sessions, discussion forums, and a statement of faith.

“Christian Ethics: Kingdom, Human Sexuality, and Social Justice,” by Dr. Augustine Suh and Pastor Kevin Albright, in collaboration with Dr. Moses Noh, Dr. Daniel Lee, Dr. Crystal Morla, and Dr. Joe Wert, explored Christian ethics through a Kingdom perspective, providing a framework for engaging with ethical questions. It covered topics such as biblical sexuality, pornography, gender identity, LGBTQ issues, biblical social justice, economic justice, racial justice, politics, and social crisis preaching. This course helped participants to engage with sensitive topics in a biblical and Christ-centered manner.

“New Testament Greek Basics: Reading and Interpreting the Original Language,” led by Ben West, MDiv, introduced students to the New Testament Greek language. The course aimed to enhance Bible study competence and the ability to interact with resources. It covered Greek vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, enabling students to interpret the New Testament from the original text. Course requirements included attendance, reading, quizzes, personal study, and small group study.

In the fall of 2025, the Continuing Education program will offer four courses: Biblical Hebrew, Bible Study on John 13-17, Ecclesiology (Toward a Healthy Church), and Worship. The detailed announcement will be available in July at ubfinstitue.org.
