We thank God for blessing the Pan-Asian Pastoral Cohort course, Biblical Doctrine (1), held from July 28 to October 20, 2025. Led by Dr. Augustine Suh, 13 Asian leaders studied the following themes: Introduction to Theology, Knowing God, Kingdom and Covenant, the Word of God, the Attributes of God, the Triune God, God’s Creation and Providence. We explored each of these themes from biblical and evangelical-theological perspectives. Rooted in a fundamental understanding of theology as “faith seeking understanding” and “listening to God,” this course aimed to foster systematic spirituality and doxology and equip leaders as shepherds of God’s flock. Students were required to read, attend synchronous meetings, complete quizzes, participate in discussion forums, and write their personal confession of faith in a reverent manner. Notably, during the final session, the Pan-Asian Pastoral Cohort leaders formulated and presented a shared statement of faith, succinctly articulating the essence of the particular Biblical doctrine within their Asian community context.
The 4th semester of PAPC will begin on November 3 with the course titled Church History I: Early Church. John Rhee (PhD. Cand. from Southern Baptist Seminary) will be teaching this course. Please pray that the 13 Asian native leaders participating in PAPC may grow as shepherds and spiritual leaders who will serve God’s work across Asia. Their names are Dr. Samuel Palaka, Peter Kumar, Active Kumar, James Gin, and Asem (India); Vincent and Ison (Malaysia); Dr. Isaac Suh (Cambodia); Dr. Mark Hui and Dr. Yowan Nerthigan (Taiwan); Sh. Batah Erdene, Caleb Gangbul, and Matthew Ebe (Mongol).
