From September to December 2025, an online Continuing Education course on Biblical Hebrew (Language Course) was offered and taught by Dr. Ezra Cho. A total of 15 students—mainly co-workers from the United States and Canada—participated in this course, through which they learned Biblical Hebrew and methodological approaches to Old Testament interpretation.
This course was focused on the introduction to basic and intermediate Biblical Hebrew, including the importance of the original biblical language of Hebrew, methods of biblical interpretation using Hebrew, and practical applications. It briefly dealt with the interpretation of OT passages. The classes were conducted on a biweekly basis, and the course content is outlined below:
Session 1: Orientation and Introduction (The Letters & Sounds of Hebrew)
Session 2: The Biblical Hebrew Noun System (Gender, Number, Definite Article, and Proposition)
Session 3: Syntax of Nouns & Personal Pronouns (Noun Plurals, the Comparative, the Relative Word, and Proposition)
Session 4: Syntax of Verbs & Verbal I (The Meaning of the Perfect, the Perfect of Verbs with Guttural Root Consonant, and the Forms of the Conjunction)
Session 5: Syntax of Verbs & Verbal II (The Meaning of the Perfect, the Perfect of Verbs with Guttural Root Consonant, and Interrogative)
A follow-up course, Biblical Hebrew II, is being planned for the future.
