About UBF Institute

“They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
(Isaiah 11:9)

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,”
(Colossians 1:9,10)

The UBF Education Institute is a function of UBF International HQ.

Vision

Our goal is that the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea (Isa 11:9; Col 1:9,10).

Mission

The UBF Institute exists to build up UBF communities both locally and globally by equipping members for the Great Command (to love one another) and the Great Commission (to make disciples of all nations), primarily for the world campus ministry.

Doctrinal Statement

• We believe that there is only one living, true God who exists eternally in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is the final authority for faith, practice, and academic discipline.
• We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and all other things in the universe, that He is the Sovereign Ruler of all things, and that the Sovereign God reveals Himself in creation and in His redemptive work through covenant.
• We believe that God created humanity in His image, but by voluntary transgression, all humankind was alienated from God, and that all people are now lost under the bondage and power of sin by inheritance from Adam and by individual choice and are inherently in need of salvation found exclusively in Jesus Christ.
• We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah of the Old Testament, that He is God Incarnate who atoned for our sins through His sacrificial, substitutionary death on the cross, that He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father, and that He is the only way of salvation from sin and judgment.
• We believe that God sent His Holy Spirit to empower the Church to carry out Christ’s Great Commission to the ends of the earth.
• We believe that regeneration is by the work of the Holy Spirit, that it is necessary to enter the kingdom of God, and that we are saved by grace alone, through faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ alone.
• We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, who is her sole Head, and into which all Christians are baptized, and that as the Messianic community, all people of God are called to participate in the eschatological fellowship and mission.
• We believe that Jesus Christ will return bodily to this earth in glory to judge the living and the dead and that He will restore everything and reign forever as King in the new heaven and new earth.

Core Values

Core values are what we, as an institute, value at our core in the effort of caring for and educating the students who enroll in our programs.

Biblical-Theological Formation:
• The Word of God is the foundation and the final authority for faith and practice. We value Scriptural knowledge and exegetical skills for the interpretation, appropriation, and communication of the Scriptures.
• A worldview (i.e., holistic perspective) built on Scripture, our Christian and UBF tradition, that integrates sound doctrine into spirituality and practical living. We strive to promote unity in essentials and liberty in non-essentials.
Spiritual Formation:
• Intimate relationship with Christ, our Savior and Lord—being conformed into His likeness - Self-awareness, confession, and reflection through testimony writing and sharing.
• Reliance on the Holy Spirit through fervent prayer.
• Healthy community through Christ-centered leaders.
Missional Praxis Formation:
• Shepherding individuals according to God’s calling.
• Disciple-making of all believers through teamwork.
• Emphasis on campus mission and house church ministry.

Institutional Objectives

In light of our mission statement, doctrinal statement, and core values, every course, program, and seminar will strive toward the following objectives:
• Demonstrate a whole-hearted commitment to Scripture and the ability to think critically based on appropriate knowledge of Scripture and sound doctrine.
• Demonstrate mature character and leadership through spiritual disciplines.
• Equip leaders with practical skills and understanding to engage in Christian ministries boldly.
